TDC Receives State Planning Funds
March 20, 2008 – The Torrington Development Corporation (TDC) is pleased to announce $504,875 in state funding to help revitalize downtown. The funds will be used to finalize the planning stages of the redevelopment project.
Governor M. Jodi Rell made the announcement at a press conference at City Hall. The Bond Commission is expected to approve the request at their upcoming March 28 th meeting.
Milone & MacBroom was hired by the TDC to create a Municipal Development Plan (MDP) that will serve as the blueprint for all future downtown revitalization efforts. The MDP will cost approximately $275,000. The remaining state funds will be utilized for design and engineering work for traffic and streetscape improvements to Main Street.
"The Corporation is grateful for the support of Gov. Rell and the Legislative Delegation in moving this project forward," said Board President Victor Muschell.
