CT Main Street Center to Visit
Downtown Torrington

The Torrington Development Corporation (TDC) is pleased to announce that the Connecticut Main Street Center (CMSC) will conduct a downtown walking tour and initial assessment of Downtown Torrington. The half-day visit will take place on Tuesday, July 24th from 10 AM – 1 PM.

The purpose of the visit is to:

• Assess the physical conditions of the business district
• Identify the current business mix and its relevance to the district’s success
• Evaluate the organizational and managerial structure of the district
• Provide the district with the best course of action in moving forward with revitalization

The TDC recently joined the CMSC as a resource member, allowing the Corporation to access downtown development assistance through guidance and mentoring, education and training, technical assistance and advocacy on downtown issues.

The CMSC is the State’s leading resource for cities and towns seeking to comprehensively revitalize their “main street” districts. A member of the respected National Main Street network which has been in place for over 25 years, CMSC is a nonprofit organization committed to bringing Connecticut’s downtown commercial districts back to life.
